Fussey to Hershey, Cashman to Columbia

    Winger Owen Fussey has been called up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, while defenseman Reid Cashman is returning to the Inferno from the Toronto Marlies, head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today.
    “This opportunity is great for Owen; he really deserves this chance,” Mann said. “We wish him the best of luck at the next level.”
    Fussey, a 24-year old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) and 19 penalty minutes in 22 games with the Inferno this year. In 75 career ECHL games, Fussey has 61 points (31 goals, 30 assists) and 52 penalty minutes. Fussey also has 53 points (23 goals, 30 assists) and 91 penalty minutes in 204 career AHL games from 2003-04 through 2006-07 with the Portland Pirates, Hershey Bears and Toronto Marlies.
    Cashman, a 24-year-old native of Red Wing, Minnesota, has two assists in just two games with the Inferno this season. In 10 career AHL games, Cashman has three assists and four penalty minutes.
    “We’re thrilled to have Reid back with the Inferno,” Mann said. “He is an elite defenseman at our level, and his presence will help bolster our blueline.”
